We can confidently apply the descriptor ‘prolific’ to ARMS AND SLEEPERS. A search through the back catalogue on Discogs or any streamings service will see you scrolling and scrolling… And within those dozens of releases are gems that traverse trip-hop, ambient and electronica with apparent ease. With a new album due in March – the fourteenth full length – it was high time Arms and Sleepers found their way to Roadburn; we’re pleased to announce they’ll play at the 2024 edition this coming April.

What started out as a duo has morphed into the solo project of Mirza Ramic as the years have passed. For the Roadburn performance, Mirza will be joined by a live  band to help bring his reflective compositions to life. The new album What Tomorrow Brings is a deeply personal collection of songs shaped by Mirza’s experiences of upheaval, displacement, and grief due to the war in Bosnia in the 1990s. The themes resonate with additional poignancy as this music is released into a world still shaped and scarred by ongoing conflicts and unfathomable tragedy.

Whilst his past may have shaped who he is today, Mirza maintains an optimism that a better future is possible. These golden threads of hope weave through his music, offering hope in the face of adversity.  Of his upcoming show, he tells us:
“I’m very excited to bring the Arms and Sleepers live band to Roadburn this year. With a new album releasing on Pelagic Records in March, Roadburn is the perfect setting to try these new songs live for the first time. We are thrilled to be a part of this year’s lineup and can’t wait to see you in April!”
