We first invited DOOL to Roadburn prior to the release of their debut album, way back in 2016. Since then we have closely followed their creative adventures, cheering them on all the way. And now those adventures have brought them full circle, right back here to Roadburn, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome them once more. The Friday of Roadburn 2024 will also be the day that Dool unveil their latest album, The Shape of Fluidity, so it seemed truly fitting to invite them to perform the album in full for us, and for you. 

Our announcement today coincides with their album announcement and the first public taster of what The Shape of Fluidity promises to deliver. As more slivers of their latest opus become apparent over the coming months, you’ll no doubt start to build a clearer picture of the majestic being that Dool have truly become. The nine track album oozes with confidence, delivering blow after blow with a sonorous attitude that heralds the arrival of a whole new era of the band. Thematically, The Shape of Fluidity is an exploration of identity – an album about reclaiming space, breaking binary constraints, and facing the world head on

Of their upcoming Roadburn performance, Dool comment:

“Ever since playing the Roadburn showcase at Cul de Sac back in 2016, we’ve felt a deep connection to the festival, both personally as well as collectively. The show gave birth to DOOL in a way, and opened up the international waters to us. We’ve been waiting quite a long time to make a return to the Roadburn stage, and we’re excited to be able to play The Shape of Fluidity in full for you this ’24 edition!’”

The live iteration of Dool is just as compelling as the recorded version; all heart, all passion, all life-affirming.
