MONO drummer, Dahm Majuri Cipolla and Reto Mäder of Sum Of R first crossed paths at Roadburn, and as a consequence united in musical kinship as JEGONG. So it seems perfectly fitting that this enigmatic duo will make their live debut with us here at Roadburn this coming April.

Since that fateful meeting, the pair have transcended geographical limitations to create two full length records and are now making moves towards the third. Their compelling mix of psych, ambient and post-rock draws influence from Krautrock classics but doesn’t fall into the trap of merely mirroring what has come before. Instead they seek out new sounds, new textures and new ways of exploring their ever expanding sonic landscapes.

Of their upcoming live debut, they comment:

“What has resulted in two studio albums for Pelagic Records over the last three years is now finding its way onto the stage for the first time. We can’t think of a better festival for the JeGong live premiere. Besides the live premiere, it’s also a homecoming on many levels, to the place where we met in 2019 and founded JeGong and to the place where we both still share goosebump memories with our respective bands Sum Of R and MONO.”

You are cordially invited to join JeGong as they celebrate their continuing creative union as it comes full circle at this year’s edition of Roadburn.
